handmade emerald green silk butterfly hair clips

She watched, mesmerized, as a gathering of a hundred shimmering green butterflies danced in the moonlit night sky, like a troupe of emerald gypsies.

These mesmerizing emerald-green butterflies were created from 100% pure dupioni silk and lovely images of butterflies. Lightly sealed and treated to prevent fraying. Each butterfly measures about 1 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches and a 1-inch grippy alligator clip is attached to the backs of each of these butterflies, making them so easy to clip into any hairstyle.

Dupioni silk is comprised of fine and raw silks woven together. It is lustrous and has a slubby texture. It is a heavy weight and holds its shape well, yet is still very flexible. The sheen of these butterflies is amazing! It gives them almost a glow which a photograph can not do justice. These ones might be my favorites yet! They turned out SO wonderful!!!
